I didn't mean to sound sarcastic lol but people 'non coin collectors" would of totally of missed it. If people don't know anything about error coins yes they would think it's very damaged.
Even though I missed the correct attribution the first time, my point of posting was to peak interest, and give those reading the tools to identify it themselves. Just when one is able to identify what they see, there is a whole nother world that opens up to a collector beyond the error itself.
I will be the first to admit that I don't know anywhere close to everything about error coins. I utilize the members of this site to assist me with the things I don't know. I am a coin collector and error collector and I missed it. I think we are all at different parts of our journey.
No problem. I would't have gotten past the cutter-like gash to begin with. Looking at it closer the strike is more apparent. Anyway, I'd have dismissed it prematurely.
