I like to use their website to compare prices sometimes. I've found that 65%ish of Littleson price is usually a pretty fair price.
I do not like the Littleton Coin Coy's., business practice myself. I have not ordered from them again after the 1st time.
Upon responding to the first AD for coins you will be sent coins on approval. They pay for return shipping, so no money lost there. I have responded to these ADs many times (for the coins at face value only). Once I replied that I don't want to be in the coins on approval service, I was no longer sent coins on approval. So, I simply got my coins at face value and nothing to return. Can't go too wrong when they send me $20 or $8 or $5 or $25 in face and I pay face (no shipping) they also throw in some free cents, so after credit card cash back and the free cents, I am coming out ahead. You could always spend the coins if you don't like them, nothing lost.
I have been buying coins on approval for years from Mike Kragel. I have found his company to be very easy to deal with. They are honest, with conservative grading and very fair prices. I am very pleased with buying coins on approval as I get to see them before the purchase although I end up purchasing nearly all the coins he sends me.
you can order dollar coins for face value by the $1000 box or $2,500 bag from the bank, just ask (there will be a mixture of SBA, sacagewea, and presidential dollars, but its still a great way to get a set). dont do littleton, if you dont send the stuff back in time they charge you for everything
