favorite coin- 1863 Indian Head Cent, with contemporary engraving of an artistic nature, ruining value, but I love it. Dream coin would be one I wouldn't sell if I was hard-up, like a high grade early large cent. thanks.
my avatar coin. Belgium 1832 10 centimes NGC MS-65 grade rarity. only took me 16 years to find this grade. it is the king of my collection. all about the majestic lion... I got this 1837 5 centimes earlier. amazing grade...
dream coin I can not afford now. $1,350.00 German States/Baden kroner Thaler... gorgeous griffin coin. + grade rarity a great combo.
Favorite is probably the 1913-D Type 2 Buffalo that I managed to vinegar date out of a pile of really nasty and mussed up buffs.
All of them are my favorite. Dream coin would be 1909 VDB Matte Proof Lincoln. Ancient dream coin would be the EID MAR
Favorite coin - 1921 Peace Dollar - I just love the design in high relief! Dream coin - 1964-D Peace Dollar
I don't discriminate between my coins. I love them all, many times for different reasons. My dream coin? You know, my collection is satisfying enough that I really don't long for a particular coin. But if you were to press me, I might go with the 1895 Morgan proof. In the gold category, the $4 Stella. As Aerosmith sings "Dream on.''
My favorite might be the first Krugeraand I ever bought. A dream coin for me might be a Capped Bust gold peice. Hell, if we'really dreaming big, how about a gold Stella?
I like a lot of coins, but Japanese Meji-era dragons always do something to me when I see a shining example in a display case. Dream coin: same design, but in 20 Yen gold. A decent example only costs about $40,000 or more. So it will remain forever a dream coin.
Tough to pick a favorite, there's so many coins in my collection that are near and dear, but id probably go with the silver clad piece I got at pearl harbor, made by the Honolulu mint, because it has high personal value.. As for my dream coin, I'd go for whatever would yield me the most money and sell it , but the one coin I would love to own is the Hawaii sesquicentennial commem from 1928, it's just slightly out of my current price range unfortunately
Imagine if an authentic 64d peace dollar surfaced.... Collectors everywhere would go bananas, I'm sure if any escaped the mint, at least one would have been accounted for by now though
My favorite is my avatar coin. My dream coin is one I find buried or in an old barn or house, preferably gold.
