I encountered many buried streets where taxis, buses, cars, emergency vehicles and private ambulettes were left in the middle of road ways and subsequently they were drifted over. All day dry snow was being hurled through the air by gusts lifting shoveled loose snow and snow blower plumes in vortex like clouds spiraling all about. Many neighborhood streets were so heavily blocked with snow they hadn't even been touched by the city by late afternoon.
