Blizzard aftermath NYC Skyline panorama from Brooklyn Heights promenade: Brooklyn Boro Hall: For the city, this storm left one heck of a lot of snow in the side streets. I encountered many buried streets where taxis, buses, cars, emergency vehicles and private ambulettes were left in the middle of road ways and subsequently they were drifted over. All day dry snow was being hurled through the air by gusts lifting shoveled loose snow and snow blower plumes in vortex like clouds spiraling all about. Many neighborhood streets were so heavily blocked with snow they hadn't even been touched by the city by late afternoon. The city was full of many stunning snow scenes reducing the normal active pace of life to a quiet labor force of neighbors tasked with clean up while kids played here and there.
Atlanta, GA (12.3 inches) Birmingham, AL (6.5 inches) New York, NY (three feet 6.2 inches) Flagstaff, AZ (0.2 inches) Oklahoma City, OK (0.5 inches) Dallas, TX (0.7 inches) Fairbanks, AK (seven feet 5.6 inches) Tampa, FL (0.1 inches) Cleveland, GA (7.6 inches) Baltimore, MD (34.8 inches) Bonus city: Tug Hill, New York (six feet 8.9 inches)
Figured I'd bump this thread to maybe make it easier to find later lol. How much snow you guys had this year? I'm up to nearly a foot total with more expected this Wed/Thu.
