You are very welcom RLM. And yeah, I went through and pulled out a bunch of different, random stuff. I don't have much of a silver collection going yet but I picked the dime and quarter (or my girlfriend on the quarter part) out of circ. That '58 wheatie came off the end of an UNC roll I bought a few months ago and broke up into individual, although idt its unc.
You need to tell the National Weather Service that. They think it did. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/archive/2010/al19/al192010.update.10250103.shtml?
you mean i didnt win? but i guessed exactly...lol ill have my answers ready before NO 31. but hopefully not after landfall this time.
I was referring to a United States landfall. I knew it hit in Belize as a minor Cat.1. I'm just trying to get a US landfall since thats where the majority of guesses were. In the final count when you won, where wasn't even a factor as everybody got two points. And, a lot of people never came back to the thread. Edit: When I extended it I did not make it where you could change locations. Now I am so maybe we can get location as a final factor.
Updated third chance: (Shary) 1. November 6, 2010 *** I don't now see any storm hitting by 10/31 *** 2. Category 1 3. Ocean City, Maryland 4. $24.05/oz. STORM SHARY...LOCATED ABOUT 220 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF BERMUDA.
Krispy: I extended it until November 30 (the official end of hurricane season) and if I were you I would begin watching future Tomas. That 80% ring down there. It looks better than some of the hurricanes we've had this season and the water temps are up.
Oh! 11/30! All right then, that sounds better. Is the current prediction for this contest supposed to be based on Shary or it doesn't matter, it could be any future storm? I thought we were tracking Shary right now so I ignored the other cells out there.
Any storm. Doesn't have to even exist yet. Surprisingly, this is about the most active its been this year. Unfortunately though, the last GFS doesn't stick it anywhere close to the US. For future reference here's the forecast model page: www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov I'm guessing a Haiti landfall atm but we'll see. I haven't really had time to look into this one much. School and work.
check out jallens post of animated map in the original contest link 1st page. is that an eye forming or dissipation. kinda looks cool. http://www.cointalk.com/t132076/ k they changed the image. hopefully they put it back
Currently a somewhat disorganized storm although it is coming together very well. Nice convection and winds up to 90 MPH. The bad news, however, is that it looks to be heading straight for Haiti as a possible Cat. 4/5 hurricane...... So basically, if you know anyone in Haiti, get them out. Now.
Tomas is down to 45 MPH. No US landfall by the 31st=hat drawing so coinmaster, you have a decent shot at it. I will definatetly start this contest earlier next year.
Technically the 30th since November has 30 days. I will announce the name drawing. And, in an effort to now get this over with, I may draw it before the 30th. The current storm is probably the last as current trends will let nothing near the US for a while.
