I have a Lincoln penny with the date missing. Coin is in very fine condition . No signs of the date being removed or tampered with. Take a look and tell me what you think.
You could take a "leep of fate," like one poster here at CT once said and who thought he had a 1909 VDB matte proof, and get it graded by PCGS. Maybe they'll grade it as a rare error?
Looks like it was removed and retoned as there is no other evidence of a grease filled die. That is if it is correct in other measurements for a cent. Could be a giant "coaster-coin".
2 or more missing letters or numbers, yes. $1.00 for elongates, novelty coins, common tokens. In between for other items and $20.00 plus for junk or common date silver dollars.
