I doubt more 1909-S VDB's in gem red or better are likely to come along. But one might cross to PCGS or someone might get lucky with a regrade. I've forgotten exactly what Mr. Blay offered to pay but I believe it was in excess of $100k. Interesting point about that '26-S. In 65RD it too is a $100k coin, pop 1. No doubt it would sell for much more than that. Unbelievable money for a penny. $1.7m for a '43-D bronze is outrageous too, but at least it is a one of a kind and completed the set. Lance.
Good HEAVENS !! DON'T COLLECT LINCOLNS !! there enough competition out there already,,,,, focus on modern commeratives in MS63 is you want a challenge.
Amazing, isn't it? The folks at the top of the PCGS reg set have amazing collections. As Blay once said..."they had deeper pockets than me"....I believe he was refering to Irwin. He didn't like getting passed up after his long rule. LOL
