Thanks Rick, I was going to tell him I was collecting Lincolns before his father was born but I bit my tongue. He also doesn't realize my Lincoln Registry set is insured for mid-six figures. Dusty, thanks for the pictures. I would definately break the set up for maximum value and also send some in to be slabbed. Just looking at the few you pictured indicates to me that the set is better than you originally described. How about your '14-D, '24-D and '26-S? I really hope you can find a buyer who would appreciate how much time and dollars you have invested. Don
No it hasn't. If you will search my previous post the coin came into question whether or not it was fake. I've collected for years and just wanting to buy some land and build another house. The 1909 is off die #2 the vdb is right as far as the periods in between plus the die chip is there in the S. It has been cleaned not by me but along the way it has been. Dusty
Thanks. Yes by no means am I looking to sale it on here. I really was leaning not to post because I didn't want people to think that. Thanks again. Dusty
Cool set of Lincolns & best of luck with the building plans. I'm currently helping my son finance a house so I'm once again getting familiar with the real estate pressures. No, I never saw your previous post(s) but I thought I would ask about the SVDB. The 1911-S in F/VF lists in the greysheet for something like $50. Stay thirsty my friend.
Spoken like a true dealer. You want to sell, let me talk down the collection as much as possible. Oh, you are buying, let me show you this super special ultra cameo deep camber extra special proof 78 dime!!! Seriously, your advice could end up costing this guy hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. Your actions here have consequences, think about that before you go spouting off advice. OP, it looks like a very nice collection of coins. Take your time with it. Here is a link to dealer references from cointalk, maybe going to see one or two in your area for an appraisal would be a good idea: http://www.cointalk.com/t14152/ As in life, some of the dealers are bad and some are good. If you go the dealer route remember that while they are assessing your coins you are assessing them.
I wanted to post to cogratulate you on a very nice collection that obviously took many hours to put together and to wish you good luck in selling it and in your real estate venture.
Lol didnt mean to sound like its worth enough for land plus house. Lol. Just was going to use this to help. Maybe. Dusty
For an average raw collection the value will be primarily in the keys and semi-keys. If you need to sell, it's generally worthwhile to get the top keys and conditional rarities slabbed. For the rest, use gray sheets to determine the value.
Ok here a few quick pictures. Sorry got an 8 month old teething. Hahaha. Will take some photos of the key and semi keys in the A.M. Dusty
Here are the Semi Key dates. Yes I know a 1919 is not a Semi Key but I needed 2 cents to fill the picture. Ok so what you all say its worth? Also thanks for all the comments a lot of time has went into this set. I know it's not the best out there but we are very blessed to have had this in our possession and are very thankful for it also. Dusty
