Lincoln Cents that make Cogmonkay happy

    thanks sooo much, i didn't know this.

    *Both coins are MS 69 RD UC (graded by NGC), but I can tell that the cameo is very weak compared to the 2008 S. So now im very confused, I understood NGC to be very reliable, I see no other reason for this other than NGC made an error.

    Here is a quick comparison between the two

    and this is what I discovered while further examining the 2002 S...again i'm left confused and somewhat infuriated (at least i got a good deal....:)

    I suspect that both coins are fully cameo. But the older coin has toned, thus reducing the visual effect the cameo has regarding contrast. This is normal.

    As for the raised bump, I suspect it was due to a die chip and the TPG's do not deduct for grade because of that. In my opinion they should, but they don't.

    One thing for sure, you won't find that often on a modern Proof.

    Good Finds.

    For my CRH sets I like to use the New H.E. Harris folders. For my "real" collection I stick almost exclusively to Dansco (although I do like the looks of the new Whitman Official U.S. Mint products)
