The reason was that the coins had so very many die cracks, I remember seven-in one roll-all DIFFERENT. As a follower of DVN Die Variety News of Billy Crawford fame (and that dude is seriously skilled in my collecting book), I figured that all those cracks had to come from scads of different dies. As it turns out, there are NOT alot of doubled dies seen in 2010 from the official ceremony. But I do have a doubled ear 2010. Guess where it is from. Come on. Guess.
