Hello everyone, thanks for being here to help.
I went through an old jar last night and found a coin that looks interesting to me. I would like some experienced opinions on what I have. Thanks

I would say that you are correct in calling that a capped die error. Looks like one to me. It is definitely an error. Congrats on the nice find!

What does the reverse look like?

    It looks normal.

Struck through a capped die, the bottom of the cap has broken from the edge and folded back over on itself so the bottom of Lincolns bust is struck normally, and you can see the inverted bottom of the bust above it.

Conder101 nailed it. Is it for sale? In any event, I'd like to write it up for Coin World.

Yes I have one more. I found both of them about the same time, possibly out of the same uncirculated roll. I don't recall exactly, both came out of new rolls when I opened them in the late 90's. At the time I didn't know anything about them and just set them aside with my collection of wheat's and others.

After inspection of all of your images, it is apparent that the first coin is pretty badly cleaned.

Yes, when I joined the forum I learned that cleaning is bad.

Although I failed to win the coin in your eBay auction, I would like permission to use your photos in an upcoming Coin World column. Thanks. -- Mike Diamond
