I went for this one, because of the detailed reverse: the lines of the stones, the doors, the garland. All very lovely. I did not make it on my list, because I chose the add the Nero denarius with the Vesta temple reverse. It was a difficult decision. </p><p><br /></p><p>[ATTACH=full]1408849[/ATTACH] </p><p>I like the portrait of Nerva on this denarius. Nicely detailed, with hair that seems as curley as the earlier portraits of Marcus Aurelius, many years later. The handshake on the reverse is nicely proportionately engraved too. Still, it didn't make it on the list. </p><p><br /></p><p>[ATTACH=full]1408850[/ATTACH] </p><p>A travel series denarius that I was missing. It goes well with the others, and I'm only missing Italia to complete a set all provinces in silver. Although I like these coins, I'm not chosing to spend a high premium on high quality issues. I like the reverse of this one too, but because of the overall wear and because it's part of a set, it individually did not make it on my list. </p><p><br /></p><p>[ATTACH=full]1408852[/ATTACH] </p><p>I had serious difficulty not adding this to the list. The portrait is magnificent, it's an unpublished bust type, and the reverse commemorates a historical event which makes it all the more special. My decision was made because overall the other coins that did make it on my list were simply just a bit more special. <a href="https://www.cointalk.com/threads/marcus-aurelius.385677/" class="internalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="https://www.cointalk.com/threads/marcus-aurelius.385677/">I did do a small write up about this coin</a>. </p><p><br /></p><p>[ATTACH=full]1408854[/ATTACH] </p><p>Unique, but many coins of PN are unique. I got this one for a fair price, and since I want the series of the civil war of 193-194, this one was a must. The ear-wax is an extra bonus. Except it's not unique, and lacks the ear wax. Coins of CA as emperor are more scarce than CA as caesar. It comes to it's full potential together with the other guys of 193-194. I always wanted a coin of Syracus, with the nymph Arethusa on it, since I visited the fountain of Arethusa. It's a fine coin, most details are visible, and it's my second Greek coin.
