Sitting here at home, I've been browsing some old threads from before I joined this forum in January, looking to see if there are any to which I can contribute. So I thought I'd revive this old thread about Licinius coins to post my example, which is similar to a number of others posted here.

Licinius I, silvered AE Follis, Siscia Mint (4th Officina) 315-316 AD. Obv. Laureate head right, IMP LIC LICINIVS P F AVG / Rev. Naked Jupiter standing and facing left, chlamys across left shoulder, holding Victory on globe in right hand and leaning on scepter held in left hand; eagle with wreath in beak at his feet left, IOVI CON-SERVATORI. Delta in right field, • SIS • in exergue. RIC VII SISCIA 17 (p. 424), Sear RCV IV 15212, Cohen 66. 21 mm., 3.36 g.

I really love the joyous-looking Victory on this and many of the other coins shown in this thread.

One question that some might consider indelicate. But we are all adults here, I think. I can't help noticing how anatomically correct Jupiter is on my coin and some of the others. Is that standard for portrayals of Jupiter on Roman coins?

Ok, I will bite, since I did not join this thread when it came out...

LOL, I never noticed it, @DonnaML , but mine has a wee-wee, also!

Licinius has so many face representations , a facial recognition software for coins(if exist :) ) will go crazy with this emperor.
