I remember reading some of those stories about the California gold rush and the stories about the Comstock Lode, too! If I recall, there was a con artist who was selling claims in Nevada that had been salted with ore. When I read these stories, I'm amazed at the gullibility of some people. I guess it's no different today. When I read these claims of "numismatic discoveries", I'm making a mental image of a youngster who is so excited about the discovery that it is incomprehensible to them that it could be anything else. Then I look at the OP's profile only to discover that the person who refuses to accept the truth is a fully grown adult, in this case 32 years old. It just goes to show that the times may change, but the people don't.

It's not much different than the many who watch cloud formations. Some/many very beautiful indeed. But then they see birds, animals, even Christ and just about anything else. If you look long and hard enough, you will eventually see something you are convinced about.
