    Welcome to the forum Standard. You aren't the first one to get taken buying gold. My Dad bought 5 1904 MS-63 NGC double eagles for $5500.00 back in 1998. He didn't find out until a couple years later ,after I got interested in coin collecting, that he had overpaid. You are lucky you found out while you could still return them.

    If you must buy coins before you have sufficient knowledge to do it on your own, I would suggest the following dealers:

    Mark Feld Rare Coins -- there is hardly a coin in his inventory which is not both desireable and farely priced. Get on his mailing list, as the best coins go fast.

    Pinnacle Rarities -- same can be said as above, great coins for fair prices, only not quite as cheap as Mark, who has less overhead.

    Even after you become educated, these are still the best two dealers I know. You can hardly go wrong buying any of their coins.
