At the same auction there was a Polish Teutonic schilling of a grand Master (of the Order) who passed away at that Castle in 1449.</p><p><br /></p><p>Teutonic Schillings usually sell for $200, but by going up to $217 I was able to get this one. NGC ms-62, Erlichshausen, undated but struck 1441-1449.</p><p><br /></p><p>[ATTACH=full]1514288[/ATTACH]</p><p><br /></p><p>[ATTACH=full]1514296[/ATTACH]</p><p><br /></p><p>Me at the treasury room of the Malbork Castle, Poland, where my schilling was undoubtedly stored back from 1449. The castle was heavily damaged during WW-2: the Germans were in it and the Russians forced them out with artillery fire.
