I never thought that I would be able to find the Half Cent since there&nbsp; are only two varieties, J-155 and J-177. Both of them are experimental patterns trying out different alloys of copper. There is only one example known of J-155 and an estimated 75-100 known of J-177. The J-177 was minted with two different alloys. One mixture was 88% copper 12% nickel and the other is 90% copper 10% nickel. They are also known in mint state or proof formats. I do not know why that is and perhaps someone on CT knows or could point me in the right direction for researching that question. I know the photo quality isn&#039;t the best but it&#039;s what NGC had to offer. Needless to say this will be on lay-a-way for a while, but I am really psyched to be its new custodian.
