I just received my first reverse proof! I've wanted one for some time, but they always cost so much more. Luckily I was able to grab this one on an eBay auction. Unfortunately there are some milk spots on the edges and face but it seems like half (or more) of Canadian bullion does. Nonetheless I'm very happy with it - I love the Titanic privy mark!
Congrats on your purchase. I'm a sucker for reverse proofs as well. The Maple Leaf reverse proofs are some of my favs. Too bad about the white spots. That's one of the problems with modern silver bullion issues. Even were you to buy it without the white spots, there's no guarantee they won't show up later. Pretty coin!
Just curious, where did you pick this one up? I can't find one anywhere. I recommend getting the other early S mint quarters.
I'm not a Lincoln collector, but from the Lincolns I see on these threads, I see why Lincoln collectors are Lincoln collectors. Hope that makes sense.
I'm not really a Lincoln collector, either, but I got the '56 as a part of a "Mint Set," so it was basically free (and looked cool). The '51 is an RPM that I wanted to have for an example, in case I ever find a bunch of 1951 cents, and got it for under $15.
