I am not familiar with what's been going on. Isn't there a thread about this? I apologize Hugh, but I am so busy, I have not had a chance to read that particular thread from beginning to end.
Several things: First off, I knew the coin was gone (obviously). I was impressed that the package ever arrived in my mailbox. No barcode and no address.. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the coin was STILL there!
Ask the people in THE WORLD COIN FORUMS they would know more about then us over here in the US COIN FORUM. Some people just can't figure it out
most foreign gold is worth its weight in gold, for the most part. You usually wont be getting too much more value than that
I will be the first to admit that the Mint's offerings haven't turned this collector on this year. But I think a reverse proof for the ASE's 30th would have struck them as obvious. Oh, well.

Well here's something you won't see every day ....Paddy posting a Lincoln cent. But couldn't turn these down . Nice old soap bar slabs too one of my favorites. The 38 P & 39 P has some nice reverse clashes.
Just got this on saturday, the pics don't do it justice because it is a BU. I have not been able to get my camera to show that. This one replaces the last polished cent in the '09-40' book the I started around 1970.
