I was watching that one too. If I remember correctly, the same seller had a LOT of nicely toned 1887 Morgans.
Excited about this 1929S I just won at auction. It is hard to find a 29-S with nice toning. The toning isn't monster, but it is pleasant and original. I had seen this coin in hand a few years ago at a much higher price than I won it for. It sometimes pays to be patient.
AU 1932 S Washington and a 1940 Proof Mercury. A friend of mine's grandfather just passed away and he found the Mercury Proof in his collection. A VERY nice coin, save the gash on the back of Liberty's head. Definitely details. However the reverse I believe to be full split bands. He offered to sell it and I have not yet decided. Right now it's in my coin album. The rest of the coins his grandfather had were run-of the-mill halves and over 100 common date Morgans. The Mercury was the only proof in his collection. The Washington is mine.
I would have to say maybe like $50.That might be a bit low but sold listings on Ebay are around $120-160 for proof Mercs (the common ones) and this one has that massive scratch. But I'm no expert. I got my first 40's proof just last week haha.
I was thinking it would be a fair price for that huge gash. I don't mind really. I'm sure it will be upgraded if I decide to buy it.
