I've never seen so many coins sell graded details as the past couple of years. I've had fun watching as they magically improve on the same sales day or week. These two coins happen to be graded by NGC however more often you see it on PCGS.
Which would you buy? Which is graded details? What would you do with details graded coin. Both were purchased recently. I will post grade in a couple of days.1867-S one graded details other AU58. choose by saying right or left coin

Far too long! Those green spots look like PVC damage to me.

Well since one is vf/xf the left one is details polished? But the right one doesn't sit right with me in the pictures either

I'm not into gold enough to determine which are details from pics. Looking forward to you revealing the answers.

In response to Hugh's comparison post. There's no real way to compare the two coins, based on the pics provided. The one on the right was imaged in decent lighting... not ideal, but decent; while the one on the left is photographed in the virtual shadows. No way of discerning to a confident degree how the left coin's surfaces look. While one tends to find problem coins photographed in similar, poor lighting, I'd presume that the one on the left has issues of some kind.

Ok the details is on the left. I'll look exactly what's on the lable. Pd strong for this because it a favorite. Did nt think I find a 58 but did a month later. 6,000 for detail $20k for the 1867-S $10 NGC AU 58 a absolute wornderful coin that may have worn a details patch in its life time I don't know and don't care at the moment .
However it is getting out of hand at HA in my o
Ok the left is details and right is a au58
