Last but not least this 1857-0 $10 PCGS aU58 CAC is almost impossible to find and this coin will wrap up the 1st place $10 set at PCGS and NGC. Please don't ask which $10 set there are about 600. image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

image.jpeg A couple of WHY WOULD YOU BUY THAT??? For your viewing pleasure. But I paid less than melt, so how could I resist. Besides I think the Mercury dime should grade at least AG3+ and should be resubmitted hehehe!

These coin were struck before the time of the modern high pressure presses (the high power steam presses were introduced by the British around 1850-1860 and made their way to most of the countries in the world in the 1870s). It is very common for the early Mexican coins to have flat areas of strike and flan defects that looks like scratches but were on the flan even before the minting process (there was very little quality assurance at that time). Mexico City minted coins are actually very "nice" when compared to Oaxaca minted coins for instance s-l160018601.jpg s-l160018601.jpg s-l16001860.jpg

The slab is why I bought this, paid no premium and wouldn't have paid one if they tried.

Got this for a toned example. I thought it may be artificial toning, but both sides are evenly toned. I've never seen a Morgan like this. This is just about what it looks like in hand. I'd say it's AU. 2016-09-21 22.58.27.jpg 20160921_225416.jpg

Sounds like my wife, but she's the reason why we're still eating. An opportunity to 'eat more'? Perhaps, but I love living the 'real' life.........:)

If it was natural, I was thinking of submitting it to PCGS for an Everyman set because of the color.

This would be my first PCGS submission. I recently found my registry set stuff from 2011, lol. I figured now I have a reason to use it.
