I'm trying to find a nice AU or MS Standing Liberty Quarter. However here is my first 1808 1/2 cent C-3 Rotated Die. I have no idea what that means, but I just love the way it looks. I did look it up, but I still don't know much about varieties of this series.
More type set madness. I'm covering 1800-present. This project has been ongoin for quite sometime. I am almost done with the first 20th century type set. I'll post photos when it's compete. In the meantime here are some more.
It means the front and back are not aligned. If you look at your pictures of this coin in its case you can see that they have set the coin with the OBV (front aligned correctly and the REV (Back) is not aligned but actually off center counter clock wise. Beautiful coin.
I realize that, but as far as the numbering goes on the scale C-1, C - 2, C-3. I know one of them is the 8/7, my point is, I wasn't looking for this type of variety, I just happen to like the coin. It's a very nice old copper and I have been looking at copper 1/2 cents and Cent pieces for months. I take it this is a common variety or? That is the thing about type sets, you learn about each denomination, albeit, not everything, but enough for me to make a good choice. Since these type sets are very large ones, I am in no rush to finish.
