1840 $10 NGC MS 61 one of a handful with MS62 the best. Replacing a NGC MS 58 in NGC Registry $10 full set.
Thanks! I thought I couldn't go wrong at less than $50. Another new one I stumbled across. Was listed as the wrong year. Got a steal on this one. Looks toned and original! Looks like a $500+ if it grades out.
I guess I used could pretty loosely there. I'm not the best at half dimes but I'd guess it'd go AU. I've only bought and graded one other half dime. It was a 1857 and I bought it marked as AU, came back MS64.
Looking back I guess there was two. I paid the $18 to find out what the 56-O graded. This was my last submission. Turned out well. But I'd have to say this is at least a 50.
One of those unhappy sorts that the 100th anniversary Mercury was in gold. So, in honor of the event, here's a 1942 proof that arrived today. Do I dare say a "real Merc?" Nah, not going there. But it is the first Mercury in my collection. 21,120 minted. PCGS population 690.
That is a better date H-10, as a half dime collector to my eye it's an vf. 30 wouldn't mind having it in my collection as again it's a better date but no where near Xf -MS coin. This is a tough one but I believe it to be a Valentine #3 from your image's .
I got me a nice "real" Merc too... and contrary to the modern gold restrike it has full split bands ;-) thanks to @MercuryBen
