Picked up this beauty at a coin show this weekend, Saxony Thaler 1871, Commemorating victory over France, Mintage 45 thousand.
They ARE addictive. I just got two more. 1936S PCGS MS65 Bay Bridge. That is one big bear. Interesting history: Some of these were actually sold at toll booths. I am not sure if fries were included. 1936 PCGS MD65 Rhode Island. Interesting history: The original distributer in Providence produced fake announcements that they had sold-out. He then used those announcements in advertisements detailing that coins were available for a higher price than the original issue. You have to love these early commemoratives.
I hop this loads correctly. If not, click on the image and zoom in. It will show you a nice, large crisp image. This is the 1901-O I just picked up =D
Ok, if you mouse over the image, a small image appears. Click it, then click it again and BOOM it shows it nice and large, how I WANT it to show!
Two new arrivals Albany and a Roanoke early commem showed up today. I think I'm going to name my expanding collection "mid-life-crisis"
Got these from my Great Grandma and Grandma who came into the area to see the National Money Show in Sacramento. Some of these look much better in person than the scans I took.
These 3 coins (2 Bosnia, 1 Poland) were given to me yesterday, by a friend who traveled to Bosnia recently.
