Here was a stellar eBay snipe! The pics weren't very good at all, but I could see enough old toning peaking through, and it was listed at an oddball hour on an oddball day. Very pleased! My new favorite Seated Quarter by far Guess that's not saying much since my others have always just been AG to F+, but...
And here is my new-ish addition! I already posted it in the "post the rarest coin in your collection" thread, but that was before a slab cleaning. It is the most stunning example of this ultra-key date I have ever seen! COMPLETELY disgusted with my photography, but slabbed proofs with color are my achilles heel. NGC PF-65RB.....I'll include a few of the raw shameful photos for a better idea of how the color can POP!
Stunning seated! As nice as it would be to have a portrait Henry VIII, I did pick up this Groat from a fellow collector on the pcgs boards at a good price a few weeks back. December 3 if metals are down I will order the set. Platinum stay down!!☺ I only get 1 birthday pick anymore.
It amazes me how lovely the designs of the platinum coins are, but they can't make those designs on regular coinage.
Mintage number are always low even when they offered 1/10oz . Art put into this set has always been great .☺
Reverse 22s 63 cac( not real new) 22s 64. It's hard to tell the two apart, besides the scratches on obverse of 63 cac.
I have a laureate bust of Elagabalus, I didn't have one with the "cuirassed bust". A bit scarcer, but not too much. Still a nice chunky silver. Elagabalus (218 - 222 A.D.) SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria. I think these are reruns . I can't think I made any buys since last month. I did buy a 1893-s s$1 n55 but have the same in PCGS if anyone is in the market I'll post it next
Any opinions on thiscoin ? On first site I passed on it then each time I looked at it again I liked it more. I don't have a Morgan that color . Hopefully it natural ....
Don't you just love it when a NEWP shows up and looks even better in hand than it did in the auction pics ;-)
