I work construction and was at the shop today and the owner's wife pulled this out of her pocket. She goes 'antiquing' and found this in a jar of buttons a few weeks ago. Looks like environmental damage, but I don't know exactly what caused it. I would love to know it's story. Not necessarily a new acquisition, but this old gal got her grade from PCGS today - G06BN, which for the 22-M pairing is a R-H5 according to Kessler. This one is from the Peter Scherff collection, sold with the Eliasberg/Krause coins in March of 2010. Adding to the uniqueness of this coin is that it is a metal turn, not a coin turn. Happy to give this one a home... hopefully they finish the restoration on my 8-X double struck next week.
