I'm putting together a 1986 PR70 set and this is the first one I've bought. The nickel and the cent are going to have to wait a while.

Can't get better than a 70...until they come out with the 70+ ;)

1944 Lincoln Cent (PCGS MS65RB). I remember reading once that the U.S. melted shell casings from WW2 to add to the metal of 1944 Lincolns. True or Not? This coin has almost glow in the dark like qualities with the lava red elevation chromatics in Lincoln's hair.

Gorgeous coin, no doubt about that. But MS65? I think @GDJMSP must have corrupted me, because there's just no way I'm not seeing rub on that Obverse.

So you are saying it is AU?

BTW, that "rub" is a nick and it deserves a 65.

The grade sounds good to me but the color on the obverse (cheek, jaw and lapel) do give an appearance of rub. I don't see any rub but the color makes it look that way to me. I wouldn't turn it down at the grade.

I purchased this Morgan last weekend, well it got caught in a machine at the post office. So I was unable to track it, contact seller, he contacted the PO and that how we found out what happened. The coin showed up today and the seller included a little bonus. A 1943 WL half well I've had a hard time getting a decent photo of said WL and finally use my phone.
Note the Morgan photo was supplied by the seller.
Dang I can't get the photos to upload, so I'll try later.

Grabbed this a few days ago, bought it from a fellow in S. Korea. There are several types with the "Turtle Boat", this one is affordable, and has a nice large image of the famous boats. Coins of brass, like this one, from 1995 on, are very rare very rare!! Detailed information (via mlov93) is here:

When was it graded? As I see no mention of the FT designation, nor can I see the torch completely in your image. Just curious.

I'm not sure, i bought it when it was already graded. The reverse pictures don't illustrate the torch too well but i actually think if i resent it in it could get FT.
In their pictures it looks like there are no groves in the torch but i swear there are!!!

From my understanding, proof coins do not get those special designations on the slabs because it's assumed they all have them. See if you can find any Roosevelt proof slabs with FT listed on them.

On another thread there was/is discussion about some Philippine coins, which reminded me of this gem [at least to me it is a gem] 1903 Philippine one centavo. It is 25 mm, bronze. It got some toning from the holder or environment it was in, and it was in that holder since the 70s.

Thanks, it is a nice coin. Many of the finer Roosevelt's are starting to get some high prices when slabbed and auctioned.
