This coin recently upgraded from MS65 to MS66 at the Long Beach Expo. Todd tried his best to capture the golden color near the rims but it was really difficult as indicated by the over expose near the centers. I had to do some autocorrecting. Sorry.
I have had a Stone Mountain half dollar since I was a kid, and I recently got an AU 1884-0 Morgan out of a cash register and paid face value for it.
Just received a 2005 Connecticut silver Geocoin that I'm giving as a birthday present. This the first time I have seen a coin like this but it is very cool in how you use it to go hiking to find other Geocoin treasure boxes. There are all kinds Geocoins from different states and some really designed very nice. I think I may start collecting them my self. The C.T.coin celebrates the 1,000th cache placed in Connecticut on September 15, 2005 and approximately 300 of the silver coins made in 2005.
Way to act like an adult. I asked a simple question, obviously you're not mature enough to answer it.
I hope this is not comment is not being directed towards me? There has been weird comments yesterday non coin related about legal stuff having to pay for a coin ect....
I answered your question the first time. Why. Because I wanted to. (hence the sprinkles comment.) To be honest the main reason is the coin IMO shows a unique look for the grade with the cool contrast. I wanted to see if CAC agreed. (Obviously they did.) To the low ball collector its a valuable coin (4 graded PR-AG by NGC) and the cac sticker makes it even better to some. I paid over MS 62-63 money for this coin. The cac fee was nominal compared to the premium i was already in the coin. Now back to some New acquisitions!
I dont normally post my cheap/low grade buys but since it's slow for new posts. Below are 2 coins I have had for awhile. Both were $35 total. Elagabalus, (218 - 222 A.D.) BI tetradrachm SYRIA, ANTIOCH O: ΑΥΤ Κ Μ Α ΑΝΤWΝΕΙΝΟC CEB Laureate bust right, drapery on left shoulder. R: ∆ΗΜΑΡΧ. ΕΞ. ΥΠΑΤΟC. TO. B. Eagle standing facing, head turned to l., wings spread, holding wreath in beak; ∆ − Ε across upper fields, star between legs. 11.85 g 24 mm Prieur 268 MARCUS AURELIUS ( 161-180 A.D.) Caesaria, Cappadocia AR Didrachm O: AYTOKP ANTWNEINOC CEB, Bare head right. R: UPA-TOC G, Mount Argaeus surmounted by a statue of Helios, holding globe and sceptre. 20mm 5.7g Metcalf, Caesarea 129a; Sydenham, Caesarea 321.
A cac sticker seems a little counter intuitive for a lowball coin. If you want the lowest grade possible, why would you want your coin to be certified as being at the top end of the assigned grade? I would think NOT receiving a cac sticker would be a plus for the lowball collector.
