Ms 63 pl nice coin!!

 

Just a tiny bit of rim toning on the reverse. This was cracked out of a seemingly unopened OGP Plastic Proof Set case. The Cent and the Saca were monsters. The Roosie and the Kennedy had simply yellowed a bit on the rim. Not much action on the Jefferson.

 

why did these coins toned up ?

 

No idea. I bought the set intact for $100. I submitted the Lincoln and Saca to PCGS using their Secure Plus service so they could be sniffed for illegal chemicals, obviously they passed that test, and I got problem-free grades on both. I have seen some Proof coins tone inside the OGP, but I don't know if this happens under only special conditions (high humidity, etc).

 

Pcgs answered that I am sure the Secure service is a costly fee. Carbon also could be high in your area Bill M lived somewhere around a Pennsylvania mine and has a beautiful Franklin graded Pcgs set all 38 corns are coned beautiful and MS 64 some full bell .

 

I wanna see those franklins!

Just got this back from pcgs today

 

And got this one today too bought from ct member @treylxapi47 he'd asked my advice about it before he bought it. I said if you ever sell it... So it just ended up in Maine! Only thing I bought for a couple months. I'm broke as far as buying coins for awhile but couldn't resist this one

About how I felt. Trey found it first I was kinda bummed but when he sold it I was thrilled to get it! Prettiest cc quarter I've ever seen as far as toning. Got some pl characteristics too

The obverse is a bit busy, but I LOVE the reverse. Symmetrical buildings make great reverses to coins Lincoln Memorial pennies, Jefferson nickels, etc.

 

Here's a newbie. Just an average example for the collection.

 

One of my favorite modern designs. I will own one eventually.
