I ask because back I'm the day when u got poor service you left a penny as a tip. I'm not saying that's what happened but who knows.

O I know. But for some reason I think I got something here I really do I seen on youtube of people taking the copper off and it looks just like my penny. I know in 1982 and below people hold those Penny's for the copper cause its 95.5% copper Im thinking cause 1983 and up is when they brought the zinc penny into play. I do think this was a test penny for that year. Cause if it was coated after 8 years I would think I would see some copper

Jason, not trying to be a stick in the mud, but you may be better off with making a new thread on the coin instead of asking questions in this thread

I really like your 1812 half! way to go! the 1877 looks very nice as an XF to me. On the rev I see a rim bump at 12 and from there to about 2 either glare from lights or (I hope not!) possible rim filing.

I don't really care much for the 1859. From the photos it looks like a very bright white coin, which for me personally is not a good look for mid 19th century silver. I also worry about cleaning on coins like that but you have had the opportunity to see it up close and I haven't.

Bought my first coin from the Great Collections auctions. 1911 Quarter Eagle gold Indian. PCGS XF40. Paid $250 total including buyer's fee, which I think is pretty good for a certified coin. Not all that much in to slabbed gold, but since these are so often faked I'm happy to have the assurance that PCGS thinks it is good!

As mentioned previously, this was picked up as a trade, so it cost me almost nothing. It allowed me to get a great Type coin and clear out unwanted coins and simplify my collection at the same time. Other party seemed happy to, so this was like a win-win-win-win.

Thanks. It was one of those surprise wins on a auction on heritage. I never thought it would go at what I bid - glad it did.

This one went cheap looked like everything did was 210 + bp. Got another type set addition I'm real happy with a 1837 no stars half dime in au-55 been looking for a nice example for the right price for awhile ever since I put my set on the ncg registry I'm more aware of the holes. Most are common or later stuff I'm not real interested in that I own in lower grade not worth slabbing or registering. Most of my 20th c coins are basically junk silver
