It is over struck on a regular Morgan dollar. I don't think they are available any longer. http://www.dc-coin.com/fantasyover-struckusacoins.aspx
Yeah you can: moonlightmint.com has them. I think they are altered. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Here a few that need a new home some of my two of's 1859-O seated half 1851-O 3c is a error clashed with two and half gold dollar gold
Another new ancient addition is a rare commodus provincial. I found several with three stars but not 4. This one is pretty rare. Commodus (177 - 192 A.D.) Æ18 of Philippopolis, Thrace O: AV KOMMODOC ANTONINOC laureate head right. R: FILIPPOPOLEITWN crescent and 4 stars. 18mm 4.5g Varbanov 1006
Will do. I take what I can get outside of Ebay because I have a dealer who gets a hodge-podge of random stuff. These were lucky finds at spot. He typically saves commems and silver world coins for me...at spot. He *just* deals in bullion. I'm very lucky.
Seated time! Here's a lovely new Half Dime from 1861 with a little hint of color on the obverse and some clashing on the rev.
Well, "altered" in the sense that it is a real Morgan that has been overstruck with a die created by Daniel Carr of the Moonlight Mint.
Those half dimes are tiny, aren't they? I only have one in my collection, an 1853, but it is a cherished part of it and I hope to add more one day. One of my favorites.
Teenie tiny for sure! On that 1861 I didn't even notice in-hand, but I think her nose is doubled! The only way to see 'em is to photo the coin and blow it up on the computer screen! Bought 6 of these last week, 3 are "ok", but here are the other high-lights. 1829 has a CUD in AM*ERICA and another in the last "S" of States 1871 has a cool blue toning and a grease filled die for "Uniteu States" lol
Bust half dime date looks like 1829/7? */* my eyes are not as good as they once were.. But still both are gemmy
Just acquired another choice seated quarter. Its in a lower tier grade, but I suspect she is going to be smoking hot for the grade, eye appeal, and price paid.
You peaked my curiosity! The 9 looks different and something is definitely above & between the 2 & 9, but under 10x magnification I think it might just be a scratch. :-( Pretty sure, but it would be easier to tell if they weren't so dang small! lol
