This is the first time I have purchased this McArthur set. These are real beauties. Luster is off the charts.
Beautiful coins indeed, but not the San Francisco Mint's finest design work or striking capability. If you are looking for "mushy," this is it.
When I bought my Livia I also had this thrown in at 75% off its asking. It was another I eyed for a bit. Its fairly common and looks MUCH better in hand. My Iphone camera doesnt do tiny or large ancients well. Justin I (518 - 527 A.D.) Æ Pentanummium O: D N IVSTINVS PP AVG, diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right. R: Tyche of Antioch seated left, river god Orontes beneath her, inverted E left, all within shrine. Antioch mint 2.5g 12mm DOC I 57, Wroth BMC 75 ff., Morrisson BN 11 ff., Tolstoi 90, Ratto 430 ff., Hahn MIB 67, SBCV 111
Picked this up at a local coin shop on Friday! I'm addicted to nice circulated Capped Bust Half Dollars.
Got this for free from my girlfriend's stepfather. To him it was "a washer without a hole" and he figured I'd get more enjoyment out of it than he would lol
Two very cool colorfully-toned Presidential Dollars. The 2008-S Martin Van Buren (8th President) graded PR67DC and the 2009-S Zachary Taylor (12th President) graded PR68DC.
Another type coin for M'dude--a nice Seated Half, that is re-toning after a pretty obvious dip, but looks nice:
Recently I have been buying several coins that have caught my eye over the years here on CT and one design I always liked was the French Indo China obverse design. So I finally bit the bullet and got this. Apparently its a better date, I have no I idea. 1885 A Piastre
Just bought this off eBay sellers photos. I will send this in for a reholder and send in some others to be graded
