I picked this up at the Florida F.U.N. Convention. Just took my own pictures tonight. The coin has some areas of concern but they are a tough find with good detail. The eye appeal is really nice.
^Love those double dimes! Beautiful. My latest is an ancient I traded for. Caracalla (198 - 217 A.D.) AR Denarius O: ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, Laureate head right. R: VOTA SVSCEPTA X, Caracalla standing left, sacrificing over altar. 3.72g 19mm RIC IV 179, Cohen 689, BMCRE V 524
Yes, it does have nice eye appeal and as long as you are happy with it that is all that really matters.
It's a Good time to Buy Gold if your going for metals a USA Buffalo1 of the price less Image in 999. Gold
Hit the LCS this afternoon and picked up a few coins for the collection. My second Barber dime: A couple 1957 Type B Washingtons:
And two Kennedy Halves. The 84 D has a ridiculously mirrored reverse and the 89 has PL surfaces on both obv and rev. Can't say no for $3 each!
My last new acquisition is from my grandmother. I went out to visit her this past weekend for the first time in over a year. Last time I was there I told her I collect coins and she said she had some and would show me them while I was there. She never got around to it and we both forgot. So this last time I was there I remembered about the coins and asked if I could see them. I was expecting just a lot of old silver coins she stuck away when the US changed over in 1965. However, they were mostly clad Ikes and Kennedys with a few common date circulated wheats. She did have one common date XF Morgan, a VF 43 Walker, and a 40% Kennedy. She said I could take anything I wanted but I felt bad taking the only silver she had in there. So I grabbed this 89 Kennedy which for some reason caught my eye.
Nice first 1957 Washington B rev I am not sure what one Rev this one is but could be also a DDR */It could be the photo but I would like to put under a lop. It has the marking of of one or photo shades make it look like one.
I had a Domna Antoninianus but I ended up unloading it in a trade a month ago. So I needed a new one and found this one at Long Beach on thursday, decent price too. Julia Domna (194 - 217 A.D.) AR Antoninianus O: IVLIA PIA FELIX AVG, Diademed and draped bust right, resting on crescent. R: VENVS GENETRIX, Venus seated left holding hand out, and scepter. Rome 4.5g 23mm RIC 388a, RSC 206a
