Didn't find anything negative not great at searching stuff on the net that well was subway that got you the money to buy the coins actually hardly anyone knows me as a coin collector other than those on ct I'm easy to find through my antiques business tho I'm kinda a closet collector I guess lol getting an iPhone a few years ago got me online and able to buy and compete at the national coin auctions which enabled me to be able to find and buy the type and quality of things I've been looking for which really got me going and collecting much more seriously again rather than just being limited to picking up anything good that came up at the local estate auctions I've never been to a coin show or attended a major coin auction

    Boy, that is some coin!
I believe this coin topped the $20 St. Gaudens, which is pretty hard to do!

Here are some better shots of my 1870 Seated Liberty. A buddy of mine took them on his phone because it takes better quality photos. The only downside is I took my camera and took pics of the pics. They still turned out better than I imagined and captured pretty much what the coin looks like in hand. In some pics you will see a large scratch. That is on the phone screen. What do you think this S.L. would grade?

It may take me another post to finish uploading the pics. IMG_5990.JPG

I think this is my new favorite coin. I just love it. The toning is just magnificent. I'd agree with the AU 55 grade. It would got along with my PCGS AU 55 1892 Barber quarter and my AU 55 1898 NGC Barber quarter.

    Is this a proof?

    Very attractive.

Yes, sorry. Proof 62. It's about the only proof grade I can afford or in this case what my father was willing to spend. Still a very nice classic proof in my opinion. Don't have the coin in hand yet, so those are the sellers pictures for now.

Thanks for the compliment, by the way.

Yeah, this is the second one I have seen in this grade at a price I could actually afford. I'm happy to add it to my collection and always keep my eyes open for any reasonably priced early proof coins. Passed on a seated half dime proof earlier this year that I should've gone ahead and added to my collection.

That is one area that has grown on me quite a bit. I like any proof from before our current coinage. I guess because we always see dimes, Lincoln's, washingtons, jeffies, and JFKs and that they are easy to get that they don't appeal to me much. I also don't care for Franklins, but any proofs prior to those I enjoy and try to get them from time to time.

Some great new additions everyone! Merry Christmas!!!

All I got for Christmas are books about coins! I wanted them so I could increase my education. I had to buy my own Christmas coins! I'll post the latest when I get back home.

Hugh, all I can say is WOW! Your collection must be a sight to see! Thank you for sharing.
