1875 Seated Dime, Colorful PR67 1875 10C PR67 NGC. The year 1875 is famous in American numismatics for the tiny gold mintages, but the 1875 Philadelphia Seated dimes of the year saw a mintage exceeding 10.3 million circulation strikes plus 700 proofs, most of which are in lower grades than the present Superb Gem. The deep toning under a light resolves into lovely rose and gold patina, interspersed with silver-white areas, all of which is enlivened by the deeply mirrored fields. There are no mentionable distractions, although a hint of strike softness occurs on Liberty's face. Census: 3 in 67 (1 in 67 ), 1 finer (10/13).(23CY, PCGS# 4772)
Wow Hugh you got some killer coins me I'm just a humble working class guy and just can't swing a lot of major stuff mu big purchase this year was my 1795 flowing hair $1 in vf-30 I can only do a couple major coins a year but I can steadily pick up $500-1000 items I'd buy the big ticket ones if I could my love is the draped bust and earlier stuff started collecting Morgan's cause I could buy a very nice coin when I didn't have a ton of money I own my own business so the money isn't always consistent but when I got extra I buy the best I can
I'm glad your willing to share I'm the same way I know people get jealous and think your showing off I've heard it too not just in coins me l love to share my stuff and any knowledge with others in the hopes it fuels their passion and I'm always willing to listen and learn I've got almost all my education in many things from learning from other collectors reading and self teaching thanks for sharing some wonderful coins!!

1891-O 25C Specimen 66 NGC. The special nature of this coin has been recognized since at least 1941 when it appeared in Mehl's Dunham Sale. It has passed from one specialist to another since then, always remaining in strong hands and rarely offered to the numismatic market. The obvious reason for striking this piece, as well as the other known branch mint proof, was "resumption of coinage of this denomination at New Orleans (interrupted 1860)," as stated in Breen (1977).
Great stuff Hugh. I like the Flowing hair series. do you have any 1794 Dollars or halves to show ? I hope thats not being to forward.
1860-O $1 MS65 PCGS. The 1860-O Seated Liberty dollar claims a substantial mintage of 515,000 pieces, making it one of the more available issues of the series and a favorite choice of type collectors. The 1860-O was primarily intended for use in the China trade, and most of the mintage was probably sent to the Orient near the time of issue. However, it seems that a considerable number remained in domestic hands. Several thousand examples were still in government storage facilities in the 1960s and the issue was well-represented in the great Treasury releases of 1962-1964. The coins from the Treasury hoard were almost all in lower Mint State grades, due to excessive bagmarks. Q. David Bowers states, "I have never seen an MS-64 or MS-65 coin from the Treasury hoard. When such coins come on the market they are usually from cabinets formed years earlier."
