1916 Matte Proof Lincoln. I picked up this 1916 Matte Proof Lincoln Cent (PCGS PR64RB CAC) in last month's Goldberg Auction for about 60% of guide price. Guide price is $3350 and I won this for $1850 + 15% buyers premium, which was a great price for a relatively spot-free 1916 Matte Proof. I really liked the hammered strike with the great beard and hair detail, the lava-like red glow in the center, and the lack of spots. Of course the super-wide razor-sharp rims are really cool too. I know it's not the most beautiful Matte Proof in the world, but it's not bad at that price point. And it's a rarity with only 188 PCGS slabbed examples floating around out there for this date. PCGS Slab Population (Counts): This gave me a really low cost way to fill one of two remaining holes in my Matte Proof Lincoln Set. All the coins shown below are PCGS graded (with the assigned grade shown below each coin); and I added my buy price for each coin under that info. Note that all the coin images are resized PCGS TrueView photos. The 1909 vdb is too darned expensive, so I will never fill that hole; but 8 out of 9 ain't bad!
Congratulations Winged Liberty, that is simply a stunning coin and a fit addition to such a monumentally attractive set. I appreciate the work and research that you must have put into such an accomplishment. I'm sure everybody here loves to see your beautiful coins! Best Regards, George

Biggest acquisition to date. Seller pics, going into my CAC Type set. My pics to come tonight. I am super psyched about this addition.
Actually, 67 if you can believe that. Seller pics don't really show it, I will try to do better tonight.
I was told Goof Off will clean slabs and repair minor scratches as well. Can anyone verify or is it actually harmful to the coin/slab? Haven't tried it yet simply because I haven't verified the info yet, but now seems to be a good time.
Oh and duh, beautiful coin! I'm still holding out for my Type 2 buffalo for my type set. Keep up the good work Geek, you will have a marvelous set once complete.
There is also Headlight Re-New cleaner that Auto-Zone/Pep Boys sells a lot cheaper too. the bottle size has a lot oz in the big bottles they sell.Goof Off good too, plus there a few more product names to repairs plastic scratches I can't think of now
Hmm, headlight scratch repair, that might actually work. Maybe a 1-2 combo. Goof Off to clean any residue and Renew to buff out those annoying scratches. Thanks Angelo!
Your Welcome!!!!! I found this out after using Re-Headlights on our car.I already had a sample bottle of slab Re-New I ck out the ingredients and they were the same thing just a new or different name. I live on a fixed income finding short cut is one thing I must do.
Fixed income or not, I'm always looking for sensible resources that also reduce costs. I strive for efficiency in many areas of my life.
