also an 1885 proof. Colors are gorgeous. Cant really tell from the pictures, but there is a lot of neon green and blue on this coin.

Ok guys so here's my newest acquisitions. All of the following coins were pulled out of the foreign junk silver bin today and the price I paid was 2% under spot or somewhere close to that.

This last coin is my favorite. I was putting everything back in the bags and ran across this after I put all the large stuff up first.

When I picked this piece up I knew I wanted it so I handed it to the clerk for weighing and since it was so small this ended up being a freebie!

My guess is that this is a 1742 Dos Reales. I'm guessing simply because I have no idea what the denomination would be, but it does have a 'D' before the usual 'R' that denotes 'Reale', so I figured it would be 'Dos Reales'.

Edited to add that this coin is a Single Reale, not Dos. The Dos Reales are marked 2R, whereas mine is just R, so after checking ebay its just a Reale

    How did i do?

Oh and Greg, is that better? I know its not really a stack of 'bullion' but it was bought as junk prices, although i find all of these new acquisitions beautiful and somewhat collectible to the right indiviual. I did cherry the lot for the nicer looking coins

Very nice Dex. Are these smaller denoms more rare than like the 8s?

I really like those old Spanish Reales myself, beautiful coins!

Doers anybody know what this coin is, I didnt particularly want it at first, the Pentagram kind of threw me off, but the toning was nice and i got it anyway?

Anybody have some info? Is it a devil worshiping coin? (J/K)

Says 100 FRANCS, but the rest of the coin is not legible to me

Picked up on ebay last week. I wanted a nice Columbian Exposition Half, but all the ones I saw were either very worn or were dipped to blast white. This guy had some splotchy toning and I think that makes the details pop a little bit more and gives the coin some character. I'd say AU-55 or better.
