probably worhtless but this was in a box of junk i bought from ebay when i was in high school (graduated in 2001). i've been cleaning out old boxes of junk i had at my parents house. found an envelope with a bunch of foreign paper money as well and PEZ dispensers!!! :smile

the coins dont look like they're in perfect shape, any reason to leave them in this plastic case?

The case makes it seem more 'official', and there may be some nice toning that comes over time. But if you have a reason to break it out, then go for it.

i have no reason actually. i just am not a fan of the big plastic case with the picture. the very left one looks to me like it's toning, a little on the front and a bit more around the edge of the coin on the reverse. what causes this?

The cardboard/paper in the plastic (and maybe the paint?) reacts with the metals to tarnish, or tone as we call it.

that makes sense why it's toning around the edges first.

Pictures are not the best sorry. Took these pics with my iPhone. Got this baby for $27 off of eBay. NGC MS64 with beautiful light toning on it. No where near as nice as Dex's heard running wild on here but hey I am building on it. Thanks for looking.
