The franklin half was a pleasant little surprise. I bought it off a member here as a 1962 proof set in a Capital holder for right around $25 for the set. I'm happy with that I've been thinking of replacing it and sending him in to NGC to be slabbed. Not really for value wise but more so for protection. If not at least a direct fit Air-Tite to show it off better.
Watch out Trey, it seems like you are straying from your bullion roots. Collecting has dug it's claws into you.
New lady I needed for my romans, was cheap since its partly uncleaned. Theodora (337-340 A .D.) AE4 Obv: FL MAX THEODORAE AVG. diademed and draped bust right. Rev: PIETAS ROMANA. Pietas standing right holding child in her arms. (Exergue obscured.) 14mm 1.6g Sear 3911
I liked that set. I knew you would be happy. I wish I could keep every coin I buy. Its tough letting some go.
Call me crazy if you wish, but I picked up past issues of the Numismatist. Only a couple though. I'm going to organize them by month and year and slowly but surely read what I am interested in.
Featured this in another thread earlier today. Found it in a batch of junk silver and decided to keep it for myself. I don't collect Walkers, but for 15x face I'll own just this one
I meant the huge price increase for the next grade. 67s and 68s bring real big money. 66s are still affordable under $200 for the common years. I'm just saying I felt it was a smart move for a young collector such as myself to purchase a desirable, high grade coin as it could turn into one of those coins worth a lot of money in 30-50 years, or even further down the line for my children's sake.
It is tough letting some go, I've noticed every time I receive a new coin it turns into my 'new favorite', lol. But yes I absolutely loved what you sent me all the way around. Very nice deal on some good items.
couldnt find a seated quarter for the set today so bought this because whats the fun in going coin shopping if you dont buy any
I really like the 3-D effect like the stones in the foreground on the Chaco Culture coin -- on the other hand I think they're all great. I'm building a whole collection, the P & D issues, the proof sets, and the silver proof sets
