That's one of my favorite 50C modern commemoratives. - On my dollar one, there is this roundness in between the eagle's wings, dead center on the coin. Not sure if that's a defect in the blank, or if it's supposed to be the sun.

I was really excited to have snagged this Proof Eagle for a pretty decent price, but once it arrived in the mail...... OUCH! The slab looked like someone used it as a baby toy, put it in there pocket with a key chain, then rubbed it with a brillo pad for good measure.
Thank goodness I had just read one of Gbrokes posts about using Automotive Headlight lens restorer to fix scratches!
It worked like a charm, and these were deep scratches too! Thanks Greg!

I just got this stunning 1832 Capped Bust Half in today's mail. Here are some quick iPhone photos. The scratches on the 2nd image are on the slab not the coin.
I love this look. It was listed on eBay for $875, but I bought it for $675 from seller "CrazyForColor".

Just received this from a fellow CT member. Looks even better in hand. VERY PLEASED. Even through the 1938-D is exceedingly common in MS65\66, this is a fantastic affordable example, CAC approved, and fits perfectly as a high grade example of the 5c Buffalo "type". Hat Tip bigjpst.

It's hard to photograph, but if you look at how the light hits the coin you can see how the area between "Liberty" and the wings is not flat. This is not how they show the coin on the mint website.

I figured since I had the coin out, I would do a PhotoScape version as well. This has a different obverse photo, but you can still see what I'm talking about. Does your coin show this same raised area dwiz? Do you think that is supposed to be the sun, the blanks were not flat, or maybe since there is nothing in that area the silver pushed up there when it was struck?

No big deal but I got it for $10.59 shipped.
I imagine the slab cost that much.
Now I just have to hunt down the best Gem BU P's & D's for 2013 and I'm good til 2014.
