While being self indulgent last night (read my missal on the general forum if you wish), I did pick up a 5 oz hockey puck of the Denali from the mint. Since two have sold out, and the designs are IMHO, beautiful, I pulled the handle on this one: Obviously a stock photo, until the new one arrives:
Did you get the opportunity to purchase some of the other pucks from 2012? Or was this your first one? IMO, very wise purchase, the mintages are low and I foresee them going much lower. And you're right, they are beautiful.
No, unfortunately, I didn't get into the hockey puck market until this year, as I was preoccupied with other purchases. They are sky high on the secondary market now (at least the mint "collector" ones are), and I have the Acadia, and now the Denali.
At least you were able to pick up an Acadia, that was a robust and quick sellout. I was well on my way to pick up an El Yunque but it sold out before I had the chance to buy one. They've been picking up steam lately.
Few new coins. Seated Quarter for my type set- yes it's cleaned and has scratches. 2013 ASE for my album and the Lunar snake for my Lunar set.
Posted these in Lincoln tab but they are a new acquisition as well so here they are. Just got these in the mail. Won them on eBay last week for $17. These are the seller pics. When I get a chance I will image and then I will most likly send them to Robec for better imaging. 1956 Lincoln Toned 1c Proof 1961 Lincoln Toned 1c Proof 1944 Lincon Rainbow toned 1c
This is a link to the slabbed Morgan dollar I just picked up for $51.50 total: http://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/CertResults.aspx?CertNumber=2529239-003 The website places the value at $55. I am not sure what the Grey Sheet says, but I never needed it to find good values, and probably never will.
It was $28 and it had so much detail. He had it graded as Fine. I'm very happy with it. Looks great in the album.
Walgreen's Clerk: Oh, it's that Rick guy coming through the door again. acing: Walgreen's Stocker: Who's he? :headphones: Walgreen's Clerk: He's that strange guy who always wants to see ALL the coins in the register, and has this loop eyepiece thingy. Walgreen Stocker: Oh yeah, I'll be hiding in cosmetics...
That"s very true, their all starting to ask me questions, and my answer is just, open the cash registers, all 4 cash register, then I take out my 10x, which is about 10 inches long, from my back pocket ! lol !!!!!:thumb:
That's a true photo, when I first starting looking for coins there, the manager thought I was trying to hold them up ! We always bump the change on the counter ! lol dd:
