I just got this Proof Lincoln PCGS PR67RB in the mail. Wow, what great color. I just snapped this coin leaning against my computer monitor with my iPhone. Sorry about the focus. Lincoln is basically in electric violet, the fields are a vivid orange-red, and there is some nice green highlighting at the top (much more green that my phone could capture at this angle).
I love the proof Lincoln toners from 1936-1964. Yours looks to be spectacular. I know you just got it, but if you ever feel the need to part with it, please put me in the front of the line.
you got it robec -- if I ever go to sell it, i will contact you first. i paid $185 for it (i am sure i overpaid), but what the heck ... i liked it ... what can i say!
You are obviously a colorful-toning lover (like me) It's funny the PCGS price goes doesnt even list PF 67 RB (only RD) The PF67RD is listed at $30 If I knock the RB value down to $25 It means I paid nearly a 7.5x toning premium (which is steep (i think)) I think if I stuck this on ebay i might get maybe $80 to $100 for it (about a 3x to 4x premium) But anyway, I liked it so I made the leap. I will definately let you know if I ever decide to sell it. I put your screenname in my coin inventory entry for this. Although just to be fair, i rarely sell stuff, but sometimes do!
You may appreciate my 1936-42 Lincoln proofs in the PCGS registry, others probably not so much. http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/publishedset.aspx?s=50643&ac=1
Holy Cow!!! That is a STUNNING collection! I LOVE IT! Since you love toned Lincolns ... what do you think about this business strike i bought last month? I thought the toning on the reverse is some of the best I've seen on a regular strike. The obverse is not so bad either!
Nice one!!!!!!!!!!! I got the 57- in 67RB, but it does not have the star (and does not pop quite as much either).
rlm, yes some of the MS and PR lincolns really have some amazing color. post your 67RB if you have it handy.
i like them, RLM!!! very nice hey what causes the parallel lines on the back ... i see that all the time (even on mine) Nice find in a roll djhughes!!! wow.
If you look closely, I think you will find the line are not just on the reverse, but also on the obverse. That would be a very good indication that they are woodies - improperly mixed alloys
Love those MS toners. The 1957-D is out of this world. It reminds me of an MS66RB that Pccoins from the NGC and PCGS boards has.
Picked this up a couple of weeks ago from a well known Buffalo nickel fanatic who frequents both NGC and PCGS. Just now had a chance to take a few pics.
