Picked up a new so-called-dollar. This one is more difficult to find than many, with a mintage of only 1000 medals.

One I just got on the mail today. I'm done buying for a while. I've gotten a little carried away lately lol.

And...this type coin just arrived this afternoon. It's an upgrade type-set coin, with some colors I thought were quite attractive.

I survived Christmas as well, here's my reward as a result:

And I've come to the realization that it's somewhat of a challenge to photograph slabs. I applaud those that have mastered that craft.

Photographing the slab is pretty easy. Photographing the coins inside of the slab is a bit tricky! ;)

Not exactly "new", but I forgot about this coin until now:

Bargain of the year: $18 Buy It Now on eBay. You rarely see PCGS put a grade as high as a "68" on colorfully toned copper. And certainly toners in the S-Mint Memorial era are a rarity in and of themselves.

I just had to buy 'em all up from the coin shop. I couldn't resist. And yes, there are some scrubbers in there too.

Word cannot begin to describe how jealous I am of you! That is possibly the most colorful (and highest graded) Memorial Rainbow proof cent I've ever seen. Awesome find (and steal)!

On a side note, here's another fresh one from robec. I cherried this one off of ebay for $15 + shipping -- came out better than expected. Beautiful light rainbow toning with no major nicks, scratches, or rubs. It has some nice character as well -- strong die polish marks in the fields on both the obverse and reverse.

It's oh-so-close to FB...but I don't think it will hit the picky FB designation.
