About 1600. Which would have a current melt value of $18,500.

It amazes me that they made such great advances in car design, but seemed to have gone backwards in coin design. Beautiful T1.

Showing that silver is a FANTASTIC inflation hedge.
1600 silver quarter will buy a new car in 1917 ... and those same 1700 silver quarters will still buy a new car today.

I bet in 50 years, those same 1700 silver quarters will still buy a new car, that would probably retail for $100,000+ US Dollars. Assuming we are still using the "dollar" in 50 years.

Morgandude11 As long as it's Silver, I'm listening

Thanks. Paid 64 money for it, and that pink champagne tone is amazing. Trying to figure out how it was only a 65+. I have had 67 Morgans that look worse. Obvious die crack over "pluribus." but that shouldn't affect the grade. :)

This beauty was in a roll I got at the bank last week. It just stuck out like a sore thumb from the others. Great eye appeal with nice luster and a strong strike. Not bad for a buck.

    A $5 1917 DDO and a $25 1938 D/S Buffalo

I just got these back in from ANACS. I found the 1917 DDO Lincoln for $5 raw and the 1938 D/S Buffalo for $25 raw.

Just back from robec - some nice neon toning on the obverse and decent toning on the back:

Robec is getting quite the (great) reputation around here -- I just got this image back from him yesterday. I always thought this PCGS MS65RB 1909 vdb Lincoln had matte proof-like qualities (more in the color/toning, than strike/hits).

I really get great enjoyment getting Ike and Kennedy rolls from the bank and opening them up. I have had some good luck in the Ike roll department. But the rolls are coming less frequently now. I also like spending Ike dollars around town.

Currently I'm $100 into this coin.. purchased in a full set for $600 only a few years ago from which I've sold roughly $500 (including the 14d, 09s, 31s, and all the early semi_keys).. also slabbed a few of the mid-30's and 40's and still have them also..... if I sold everything from that set this coin would esstenially be free (or free with $ to spare)...

Moral of the story,, like gbroke and wolly.... if collectors work "hard" at finding the buys, search the rolls (tons of them), then coin collecting can be both fun and profitable.
If you get lazy, then expect to the profitable part out of the equation... (which i have also done).

    Anyway,,, great buys dudes !!
