I thank you all right kindly! It's a great set and those shots that I posted are just a small sampling of toners in this album including some pink and lime green clads. I was surprised to find that the coins stop in 1999 and that the ones in the 2002 slots were actually the SMS versions of 65,66,67. Not a bonus by any means, but it tells me that the previous owner "cared" about completion.
Hope that he found a spot for the 1996-W as well Always bothered me that they made spaces for silver proofs in those albums, but never a place for the 1996-W... oh well! Nice looking set of dimes in any case
:thumb:My wife/my santa gift, just ordered the hole 1986-2012 AME Pr-69DC set. the Black makes the Proof look great.
It was....I still had to pay a lot out of pocket. I sent about 50 coins to Rick as part of the trade, including some cool varieties that I picked off dealer shelves, raw MS common date IHCs, a few slabbed ones etc. My tally was within $50 of what Rick offered, so I think I did alright.
Wow must have been tough to part with all that but you got a gorgeous coin probably the best im ever going to see.
Got this in the mail today Coin is absolutely beautiful in hand. Probably one of my favorite coins that I have.
I'll give this a shot. First time posting pics. Nothing special but here's an 1883 no cents V I just picked up. (Seller's pics)
1964 Lincoln Cent (Proof). "Winter Chill, Summer Fire". Cool silver ice on one side and molten burning fire on the other. Toning just doesn't get much more visually appealing than this! Robec photographed this monster 1964 Proof Lincoln that I bought (a few weeks ago) raw off eBay for $10. This is on its way (eventually) to PCGS for grading, where I am guessing a PR67RB grade is in store. This is an important coin in my research of toning as it's the first "silver-toned" Lincoln that I have ever seen where the silver colored toning blended into other colors (as clearly noted on the reverse). Until now, I have only seen silver toning (on copper coins) with a hard (distinct) boundary. By the way, I am not exactly sure what causes copper coins to develop silver colored toning, but I have seen a number of examples of this (all, I think, were proof Lincolns). In any case, Robec did an outstanding job with the photography! RobecsImages is fast becoming the "The other TrueView photography".
Stunning Proof WL. I was actually bidding on that one and got side tracked and missed the final bid lol. I am so happy that the winner was you another Lincon Proff lover rather then someone that would toss it in there collections and call it good to go. Let me know what PCGS grades it at.
Will do Gonzo! Sorry you missed bidding at the close (I hate it when that happens to me). Yes, I agree with you. So many coins seems to just fall off the face of the earth after someone else wins them. I wish more people got stuff PCGS graded and cataloged so they could be tracked in CoinFacts and/or the PCGS registry -- but I realize that costs $$.
