Here's one of my latest acquisitions: a 1907-S Barber dime in, I think, AU-55 condition

Nice Barber. Barbers are a tough coin in really nice condition.

Just bought this rainbow-toned 1913 (Type 1) Buffalo Nickel.
Love those Buffalo's on the mound!

Just came in today! My coin budget is small at the moment and it takes a little saving for me get something like this.

That's a nice Stone Mountain! I think the Stone Mtn is one of the most under-rated designs amongst all the classic 50 cents commems.

    Nice pickup!

I prefer the 1945-S based strictly on eye appeal. Very nice acquisitions.

TexasJarhead, I think we have similar tastes in coins! I liked the 44D when I first saw it (very unusual toning). But tthe 45S just has eye appeal out the wazoo. After a few days of mulling, I think the 45S is better (2 grades lower and much cheaper). I like it when that happens!

The combination of toning and luster is just killer.

If you're still looking for feedback on this, I'm going to be odd-man-out: I prefer the 44D. I like the subtle but even toning and, as nice as the toning and luster are on the 45S, as a type person, the weak strike is a deal-breaker for me. :(

Overall both are very nice and your Buffalo is stunning!

    Thanks oval!

Yes I might end up keeping both Walkers. Tell you what, i have NEVER seen toning on a walker like the 44. So evenly distributed on both sides and not a hint of black or spotting. It's cool how the red and gold toning enhances the detail. Funny I never noticed the weak strike on the 45, but looking at the picture again ... i see what you mean. Two coins, both nice, totally different looks. The luster on the 45 is really eye popping though. The 45 was 1/3rd the price of the 44 -- that's a consideration.

I am so psyched about the Buffalo. I've been looking for a type 1 (on the mound) buff for a while. That one had fantastic two sided rainbow toning, and I was very happy with the price. That was an easy decision for me.

I got a 1894 and a 1906 Indian head cents from my grandpa! He is awesome! Yeah, they are only 2.00 but it was the thought that counts.
    I also got a "1899" V-nickel! I posted a thread somewhere about how I thought it may be a 1885 or a 1895!!!!

Those are the best aquisitions Taylor......the ones that are "handed down". They are truly priceless, as we'll alway remember their particular pedigree. :)

Ike that I picked up on eBay for my type set. Will sit on it for a while, but the small spot at 8 o'clock on the obverse might be enough for me to keep looking.

Bought this from Angel Dees not long ago. Andy Skrabalak is probably the best dealer of small cents in the industry.

That is one sharp Lincoln. Hopefully I can find one on that order.

Thanks, rlm, for the nice words. Andy's cents aren't cheap but he has high standards and I think they're worth the premium. Here's a '26 I bought a little later.

Now that is a sharp coin. I only have one coin from Andy. My 12-D came from him. It wasn't one of my better buys, but it was a fair price.
