I really have to sell some stuff to fund this one! Big thanks to Mr. Doug Winter! 1807 Quarter Eagle PCGS XF45 CAC
Okay - photos are here of my auction pickup tonight. Had to fight one local dealer off for this one...but it was totally worth it: 1997 Botanic Gardens Set, includes the silver dollar PLUS the 1997 P Matte Proof Jefferson Nickel (mintage of only 25,000!) Very, very, VERY happy!
Newest coin. came in mail yesturday, photographed today. I need to play around some more, it has some nice colors, but dead on it just looks gray. At the right angles there is a nice copper colored luster. Fancier:
It is a very nice coin--the lighting isn't showing sufficient saturation. You can tell that it has nice luster, but it isn't being picked up by the pic. Try some daylight (natural light) on the coin.
My latest ancient pickup. Part of a set I am building of this empress. One of the hardest reverses to get also! Crispina (178 - 182 .D.)AR Denarius O: CRISPINA AVGVSTA, Draped bust right. R: HIL-A-R-ITAS, Hilaritas standing left, holding palm and cornucopiae. Rome 16mm 2.95g RIC III 282 (Commodus); RSC 18
Hey Big Man......let me hold a dollar.......I'm green with envy !! I know you're proud of that one.....GREAT purchase !!
1961 Lincoln Cent (Proof). I just got this cherry-picked 1961 Lincoln Proof back from PCGS where it graded PR67RB. I pulled this from an Original Government Packaged (OGP) Proof Set that I bought from my local "bricks and mortar" coin dealer for $35. Subtracting out the melt value of the silver, which amounts to about $20, this monster Lincoln Cent only set me back about $15. A huge bargain for a PCGS PR67 with this much striking color.
Yes this mine I got with this a few weeks ago.from a buddy that worked here @ NASA but retired about 10yrs ago and moved back home to the UK
Hi Folks Just received this lovely ancient and wanted to share : a danubian celtic imitation of a Thasos tetradrachm. Love the funny design of this one !
I am curious about this 1936 set. The obverse does not indicate the King's full title with "IND: IMP:" Emperor of India. Looking through the 2011 edition of "Coins of England and the United Kingdom," page 494-495 illustrates the pattern coinage of King Edward VIII. The 1936 Maundy set was struck with the effigy of King George V, but distributed by Edward VIII since the King died on January 20, 1936, page 491 of the same source.
Thats sweet. Here is the one it mimics, dont think I ever shared it here. [TABLE="class: tableb, width: 100%"] Thasos, Thrace, (146 - 50 B.C.)
