Recent purchase after selling a bunch of common world silver and adding most of my monthly coin budget. 1919-D Standing Liberty Quarter PCGS VF20 This is an upgrade for my long term hold SLQ collection. The other one is raw and a solid G.
Paid off one lay-a-way and started another. The type set is completed and the classic commemorative set is one coin away from completion so I have been wandering around in numismatic fairyland buying interesting world coins and nice affordable US coins. MS-62 MS-63
Newest purchase but don't have it in hand yet. I've learned quickly that nothing is certain with the pathetic and worthless USPS. Made an offer for half asking price, paid AU 53 price. GTG folks, I can take it. I think it's much better than that. This date/mint is a tough cookie, much harder than I thought it would be. Comes in a SEGS MS 64 holster. Obverse seems like a weak strike with a lot of chatter. It might go MS61 if I catch a break. Then again, it might catch details. Was a gamble. That neckline gives me the hives, even though the luster is nice.
This is the latest in my Capped Bust Half Dime Die Marriage Collection. Number 92 out of a total collectible 124*. The 1829 LM-11, R-6 rarity (13 to 30 known) from a Stack's Bowers auction. Don't have the coin in-hand yet so a TrueView will have to suffice. It's graded AU-58. *The 1830 LM-9.3 is considered uncollectible as there is only one known.
Those SLQ's can put a big ole hole in your wallet. Very nice! I've given some thought to unloading some junk silver to expand my collectibles. Selling to a private buyer or to pawn shops or coin dealers? Are you getting a fair shake on sales?
